Why It’s Important To Find Your Passion In Life

Passion is a huge part of my life. It always has been. Ever since I was little I have had many passions in life like reading, writing and playing sports. And my passion now is blogging. I came across this passion back in April of 2018. During this time I was in a huge spiral, not knowing what I wanted to do with my life. I was struggling in school due to family issues at home and my depression and anxiety were really affecting me. While anxiously searching online for a way to get a good job without having good grades in my final exams, or a degree from college, I came across blogging and that’s where my passion began. Blogging gave me back my excitement for life, and for the future, so let’s have a look at why it’s important to find your passion in life.

Excitement, hope and joy

Having a passion fills you with so much excitement that no matter how you feel you want to work on your passion, or do even more of it. It’s such a great feeling! In April of 2018, I was in such a dark place. I was stuck in this black hole and I couldn’t do anything much less go to school and study for the huge exams that were arriving in just over a month.

This had me in a panic. Before, I was excited about my future and working so hard to make my dream of becoming a lawyer happen, but the way my life was spiralling out of control, I knew that dream wasn’t going to happen. I would be extremely lucky if I even passed my exams!

Although I wasn’t looking for my passion, it came to me and filled me with such excitement that I began to do as much research as I could on how to start my own blog and I became my old self again. The planning freak came out once again and I was on a roll.

We must accept finite disappointment but never lose infinite hope.

Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

When all is lost, having hope is truly the best thing to have in this world. Finding blogging gave me hope. I didn’t need to have a fancy degree or even pass my final exams to do it, which made me feel slightly less stressed than I was. I was feeling hopeful for my future when days before I found blogging I didn’t see a future for myself. I was failing school and had no job. All was lost in my world but blogging gave me a small flicker of hope that turned into a burning fire of passion. And now here I am trying to help you find your passion in life.

Since finding my passion, I have worked almost every single day on this passion for the past year and it still brings me the same joy I felt when I first pressed the publish button on my brand new website that I created. May the first will always be my blog’s birthday! Although my blogging direction has changed since first launching, my passion and the joy I gain from blogging has never once changed or faltered.

How to find your passion

Finding your passion doesn’t have to be hard, it just takes some time and reflecting on who you are as a person and what truly lights you up.

Ask yourself this:

If you knew you would die in two years what would you do today?

I know you’re thinking that this post has gone from happy to dark in a matter of seconds but this is deadly effective. Excuse the pun. When we think of death, it helps us to see what we actually want to achieve in life before we kick the bucket. No one wants to die with regrets.

Brainstorm

Once you have envisioned your death it’s time to write all those things that flashed across your eyes that you NEED to get done before you die. Out of that list what things truly fill you with joy and light a fire in the bottom of your tummy? Those are your passions. It could be as simple as reading or gardening. It doesn’t need to be extravagant like blogging or skydiving!

Passion is energy.

Feel the power that

comes from focusing on

what excites you.

It’s so simple to find your passion. You may even have more than one! I also have a huge passion for travel, hence my big move to the other side of the world. I have a passion for writing and reading, as well as blogging.

Many entrepreneurs have created a successful business out of what they are passionate about. You have to have passion, determination and grit to truly make something work. Let’s have a look at Aby Moore, a successful blogger who has truly been my inspiration since I came across her wonderful blog www.youbabymemummy.com. She began her blog during a time when she was suffering from postpartum depression as a way document her daughter’s life. She soon started to grow and has consistently grown and done many amazing things from her blog. For example creating her own courses to help other entrepreneurs make the most out of their passion. Aby is my inspiration and has helped me come a long way with my blog already, and I can’t wait to expand even more on my blogging passion.

No matter what you aspire to, you’ve got to love what you do in order to be successful at it.

To find your passion, you really need to know who you are, what you love, how your mind and body work, and how you feel about certain things. It can take time to figure out who you are, but things like meditating can help.

Don’t Doubt yourself

Our brain is hardwired to protect us. I know sometimes it doesn’t feel that way but when something seems scary or too big our brains start to create doubt. “Can I actually do this?” or “Is this a good idea?” It can be hard to ignore that voice inside but you need to.

Depending on what passion you may have, it may be difficult, there may be bumps in the road and you might very well fail a few times, but that’s life. We can’t constantly win at life, can we? Things get hard, yes I won’t deny that. You will doubt yourself from time to time but this passion of yours is a burning passion you can feel in the pit of your stomach. It’s time you do something for you and have that excitement, hope and joy like I do.

Finding my passion has truly changed my life for the better. Starting up my blog has given me so many opportunities that I couldn’t ever achieve if I didn’t have my blog. I have met many amazing people because of my blog, I have received complimentary books and products in exchange for reviews. The Quiet Nonsense even approached me after coming across my blog on Instagram!

Many people don’t find their passion until later in life because they just do what they are told to do, or what they feel they have to do, like finish school, go to college or university, get a job in relation to that degree and become unhappy with the life they live. They are working to live, not living to work!

If I had never found blogging, I honestly have no idea where I would be in my life right now. Things would be completely different and I am so thankful and grateful that I found my passion in life.

Live your life to the absolute fullest and find your passion. We have one life to live and we don’t have to be miserable through the whole thing.

It’s time for you to take control of your life, do what you love to do, and be happy and full of joy!

With Love,

Anne.
